The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning appliances. His main focus is mopping and robot vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to cross mopping off the to-do list. They feature impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list making it easier to navigate into tight corners and underneath furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through a clean.

It's fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful when you're trying to get into narrow corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to scoop up larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to install and works well however this is something that you'll have to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a wide range of features.

The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home and also identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and intelligently. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean and is also fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. They can reach corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor close to the walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction intensity and choose a back-and forth or slightly random pattern.  best rated robot vacuum  can also select the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and carpets.

This device is expensive but has many smart features. It is important to note that the device is subject to recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and includes a broad array of physical automation features. It has a power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button, as well as a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated, but they do mean you don't have to think about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.

Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its precise map of your floorplan that it uses to draw a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture a lot of the hair that our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were lovely jingles that let you know that it was in the process of finishing its work.

Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the necessity to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which can be a hassle when you live in a house that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is notable for its huge dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as a 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock.  best robot cleaner  is a wonderful feature for parents who are worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path. It will avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in finding objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni does not have an "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
